Never Ending Projects

Never ending projects, that’s what it felt like in those days. In the last post, we talked about choosing roofing and siding and I mentioned that we would be faced with delays on both those projects. Yeah, well those delays amounted to about three months. But it wasn’t like we had any downtime during that time of waiting. There were plenty of other projects to keep us busy!

Never Ending Projects; Will We Ever Be Done?

There was more wallpaper to pull, I’m sure. Walls to prep and paint. Basement shelving to build and install. Weeds to pull, lots of weeds to pull outside. Property to mow. A window to install in the master closet. On and on I could go.

There were so many projects and it was a tough time, not gonna lie. We’d finish a project and there was a sweet few moments of a sense of accomplishment and then we moved on to the next project. I would often feel defeated and as if we would never get to the end of the to-do list.

But we trudged on! And before we knew it, three months would pass and the roofing project would finally begin! Well almost! The roofing materials were delivered and a week later the crew was scheduled to arrive.

Can We Get A Roof Already?

They arrived alright but only to sit in front of the house for about a half hour before their scheduled time to begin. And then they left. We would find out a bit later when the project manager showed up, that the crew were frightened off by the slope of our roof! Yeah, they didn’t want to re-roof our turret! So the job would not begin until the next day when a braver crew would arrive to accept the challenge!

So yeah, roofing can finally start and we could keep chipping away on the various interior projects!

I’ll post more on the roofing project next. See you then!
