Introducing a Young Victorian
Starting off this brand new blog with a project that is literally consuming all of our time these days, months, and now years! We’ve documented the renovation of a Victorian home we purchased in the mountains of Colorado in late December, 2015. This home is only 20 years young but it was originally built to look like a much older home. While she has some beautiful characteristics of a much older home, she unfortunately had some not so great characteristics of a much older home too. There was sadly a lack of maintenance to this poor little lady but fortunately, we were able to look past her “issues” (and very Victorian wallpaper in each and every room) and see her for her true beauty and potential.

This is a journey I invite you to take with us! I realize that for the most part only friends and family may be initially interested in this project, but my hope is that I can share the details of this renovation and that perhaps we’ll make some new friends along the way too. Friends that may be able to learn from some of what we have encountered during this grand adventure! Or maybe you’ll just sit back and laugh at our pain and say “poor schmucks”! Either way, welcome to the transformation of a young Victorian and may I now introduce you to… Annabelle’s Place as she looked the day we purchased her!
Next post…the details of how we came to find her and the agony of acquiring her which lasted over 3 long months. See you soon! {Shelley}
